Trojan Thunder
This build has slowed to a crawl. After priming I found the ribbed area was not the best. So I am rubbing it all back and having another go

Trojan Thunder
So the rehabilitation begins. Some masking More masking Putty applied.... Masking removed Primed Pretty happy with it and I will not be touching it again!
Trojan Thunder
Used some Tamiya Aluminium on the KC-135 as a test. It sprayed a bit course so I rubbed it back and will have to have a second go. I don't want a speckle finish as the actual aircraft had a more uniform finish on it from the single picture I have seen of it.
Trojan Thunder
i am not happy with how the paint has gone on and will have to hit it with some over cleaner to get rid of what is on it. I have found the Humbrol 11 will work out the best coverage wise. Stay tuned for further updates.

AX 365
Considering the obstacles and issues you've encountered thus far, you've done very well Ray. Keep it up. Mike
Trojan Thunder
Was not happy with the paint on the nose so I rubbed it back and have resprayed it. Just need to paint and attach gear doors and wheels now and then after that the decals
Trojan Thunder
sking off, attaching final parts, Had to cut up the main gear doors, The instructions would have you install them as flat panels. Also would have you attach the crew ladder to the wrong wall of the crew entry tunnel. Before and after Both done Wheels and crew ladder fitted Some minor painting left to do with a final sealing coat and then on to the decals Edited December 19, 2015 by Trojan Thunder

Trojan Thunder
Hey there Kurt, Just keep finding paint issues, Need to decal and add some clear parts and she is done. Might be able to finish today in fact.
Trojan Thunder
Thanks for the prod Kurt. I got to decalling today, though was not having a good time of it. I started by using a sheet for an RC-135 which had walkway decals, the issue was there was not enough supplied for a 'KC' Another issue was the glue on the decals was blue and leaving a residue behind the decal when applied. I had to 'wash' them best I could before applying I found some decal strip in the spears box and finished off the wing and then went on to the Warbird sheet. I had found that I had not marked out the anti-glare panel properly, so I will have t patch with some white decal when done. Still have to add the clear parts and paint in the eyebrow windows above the cockpit.
