DarkKnight
why?, I think it would sell well
jinmmydel
Umm...the Hasegawa kit is pretty nice if you ask me https://www.scalehobbyist.com/catagories/Model_Aircraft/p-40e-warhawk-flying-tiger/HAS00009086/product.php?pg=2&ppp=48&sb=stocknumber&so=a&e=0&kw=p40 I don't know...maybe it's horribly flawed accuracy wise. I haven't heard anything negative about it in that respect. I have seen some people struggle with the inserts and tail, but that's not really something any competent modelers shouldn't be able to handle. I'm sure if there are accuracy issues someone will come along to shove them down our throats, but it looks like a P-40 to me.

PFlint
yeah, I know what you mean -- we need a good and accurate Tomahawk IIB for the Flying Tigers. (also suitable for some interesting RAF subjects , too)
LVZ2881
I want a good -B so I can build George Welsh's bird at Pearl!
ajd3530
Pegasus was supposed to release one, but never happened. While flawed, I think the Trumpeter might be the best is you need ingraved panel lines.
CorsairMan
I never saw the real thing until after I built a p-40. The real thing ive seen at pearl harbour and at vintage wings look nothing like the scale models. It's like a completely different aircraft. sharkmouth
This is what the route I took on my second try: http://modelingmadness.com/review/allies/us/fortp40.htm The first was a resin nose added to a Hobbycraft P-36. Needless to say, I wasn't pleased but the collector (they were commission builds) was happy and that is what counted. Regards,
Jennings
Why Hasegawa or Tamiya haven't done a P-40B/C/Hawk 81 is utterly beyond my understanding. Either or both 1/48 and 1/32 would sell like hotcakes. Anything with a shark mouth sells.

This is why we are "modelers' and not just 'model builders" I love doing scratch work. I also build 1:12 and 1;6 RC stuff and it is ALL scratch built. about 25% with plans and the other 75% without any plans at all just three view drawings. I use them to CAD up my own plans. I have Boyington's P-40 on the slab now using the HobbyGram method.
