Fellow Hobbyist
A basic kit but looks amazing when painted and decals applied. The kit had two options for either the typical green/gray scheme or the red scheme applied to the Komet used by Wolfgang Spate (apparently he hated the color). Painting the model red seemed an interesting departure from the ordinary and it was only a single bottle of paint I needed to buy as opposed to the three or four different colors called out for the more conventional scheme. I skipped the carry trailer and built the model plane. The 25+ parts came together with little fuss. I had to deviate from the instructions and install the instrument panel/ armored glass assembly into the cockpit after the fuselage was closed up. After priming I applied Testors gloss red. As this was for a club group build I only got to painting before I had to present the plane. However I finished decal placing last night and the little model looks substantial more impressive. The only regret was the undercarriage took on a slight list to the left. I could attempt to pull the skid/ undercarriage assembly apart and make adjustments so it can sit level. But for now I am pleased with the results I have so far. It was a fun project.

K5054NZ
Great job, FH! I love a nice, low-stress build and this looks like one. Plus in the prototype scheme the Komet looks kinda cute!
