vivkulan
Hello All, Coming back here after several months with my Electronic Reconnaissance variant Gabriel of the French C-160 Transall. Picked up this old Heller kit from swap meet or $5 some years ago. I decided to build this variant with the latest paint scheme. Used Tamiya acrylics and used oils to weather. Hope you all like it. For some reason the starboard side props are NMF and the other one is black. Not sure why. Regards Vivek

Trojan Thunder
Nice build Vivek, so you had to scratch build all the antennas, etc? As for the props, I read somewhere that the different operators of the Transall paint props differently. Perhaps a prop came out of overhaul painted for the wrong operator? vivkulan
Thanks Trojan Thunder. The antennas are part of heller kit. You could build a regular variant or a ER vatiant.
dams301
Nice build, espacially with the Heller one :thumbsup:/> For the prop, the french Transall has 2 type (metallic and composite). There some difference between the 2 : http://www.airfighters.com/photo/53203/M/France-Air-Force/Transall-C-160R/R210/ http://www.airfighters.com/photo/31676/L/France-Air-Force/Transall-C-160R/R159/ On the last pics, you can see a mix on this aircraft Heller give 2 metallic in his kit. Revell give 2 metallic and 1 composite. During a period, those type where mix. Since a few years, all french aircraft have composite prop. Damien
Koen L
Normally on French Transalls when one prop is silver and the other black, it's cause they are two different models. French Transalls can often be seen with a mix. This shows the difference between the props quite well: I believe the latest RoG Transall boxing actually includes one of the newer (black) props. Nice to see a model of the Gabriel!

Parabat
What a fantastic looking model. The C-160 is such a great looking plane and that dark colour really suits it.
