Darren Roberts
I saw that Sprue Bros. has the Trumpy EA-3B in stock, but the box art shows an A-3B. Has anyone actually seen the plastic to confirm if the EA-3B parts are in it? I was going to retire my EA-3B set for Steel Beach, but if the parts aren't in there, I might better cast some more. Darren Roberts
Okay, then. I'll keep my EA-3B sets available. They confused the EA-3B with the A-3B.

So Darren I can get the original release and then pick up your correction set right? The reason I ask is that my LHS has a great deal on the original kit so I was thinking of picking up that one. 11bee
Forgive me if this has been posted previously but has Trumpy released an EKA-3B variant or if not, can this be built up from one of the existing kits? Always liked this version, would love to build one. John
Darren Roberts
My original EA-3B set was for the original release, but when the TA-3B came out, I was able to lower the price because it needed less resin to do the conversion. I don't believe there are any original EA-3B sets left in stock at SB. In fact, I was going to have him remove it from the listings. It also depends on which EA-3B you want to do. There were some that had the pointed nose and guns. If you did one of those, you could pick up the new set. Otherwise you'd need to also buy the blunt speed nose and the dove tail for the rear. The EKA-3B parts are all in the KA-3B boxing. They just don't tell you where to put them.
Rich in name only
So far all of the Trumpeter A3s have had errors that could use aftermarket. Link in post above: doesn't show right side fuselage shows only a bomb bay with nothing else (especially no cabin which was included in KA-3B) no instructions shown text addresses some of this---no side windows on right side and bomber decals. All of the kits so far have extra cockpit seats (way they put two each on two sprues but needed only three total needed for first two releases. Looks like the A-3B kit. Box art is the generic that first appeared well before first kit.
jpk
Hypersonic models in the UK will be producing replacement engine nacelles, canopy and main gear bay. Looking forward to it.
