1/72 Hasegawa A-1H "Spad Dad" 6th SOS

Recommended Posts

Looking good, I did Spad Dad a few years ago using 1/72 Hobby Craft A-1.

This should be interesting, will keep an eye on this one. Liking it!---John

Love seeing the a-1 in SEA camo.

What's going on in the photo with the pylons? Did you add sway braces from styrene?

Did you mix your own paints? I use Tamiya and Vallejo for most camo painting and just cannot seem to dial in the SEA dark and medium greens

No, that's the beauty of the Model Master paints but unfortunately they are cutting a bunch of colors. The Camo Grey for the underside is one that got cut. Some people hate the Model Master stuff but I've been using them since they came out and like them.

I always go straight out of the bottle and lighten things afterwards but you could lighten things before to get the scale effect.

That's looking very nice! May I ask where you got the minigun pods from?

Thanks, I picked up a Kitech 1/72 AH-1G Huey Cobra cheap. As far as I can tell it look like a rebox or copy of the Matchbox kit. I wish I could get more of these miniguns!

I think the AZ Models kit is also the same mold and looking around the Mistercraft AH-1G has them also. there are a few Mistercraft kits on ebay from Poland that are cheap.
