vince14
Here's my entry for the GB - the 1/32 Hobby Boss ski-equipped Il-2.
vince14
Quick update. I managed to get most of the cockpit completed - just waiting for some HGW seatbelts to arrive before I fit the seat. This is a mix of kit parts and Eduard etched metal. Once the seat has been fitted, I just need to do some detail painting and add a few highlights, then I can move on!
dnl42
Dang, that looks good!
dnl42
Has this coming along? I'm really looking forward to the rest of this beast!
vince14
I've been tied down with work recently, but I've made some progress! Cockpit is complete: Engine built too - I didn't bother too much with this, as most of it will be invisible once built: Ready to join the fuselage halves together: Some indication of how big it'll be once built! dnl42
Nice work on that. That's going to be huge! Edited October 11, 2015 by dnl42

vince14
So, along with every other kit of the Il-2, Hobby Boss decided to cover the rear fuselage with rivets and panel lines. This is a problem, because only the first 200-odd examples had a metal fuselage - all the rest had wooden ones. So out with the Tamiya Liquid Surface Primer, sanding sticks and nail polish remover...
