Don Posted September 29, 2015 Share Posted September 29, 2015 Hello all, For those interested, the last Oliver Hazard Perry-Class Frigate was decommissioned today in Florida. The USS Simpson was formally retired today and will be placed into storage prior to either being sold to a friendly nations navy or scrapping. The U.S. Coast Guard has harvested the vessels weapons systems (and those of her sister OHP Frigates) for use on its ships to aid in its attempts to maintain the security of U.S. territorial waters (i.e. war on drugs, terrorism etc).
