Alpagueur
Hi folks, can the A-10 hang up the LAU-88/A with 3 mavericks and if yes in which stations? many thanks Edited October 1, 2015 by Alpagueur
boom175
Yes on Stations 3 & 9. But it isn't done that often because its super draggy and the exhaust from the rocket motor damages the gearpod. But it can be done. I think Mass and CT hogs did it the 1st few days of OIF on Station #3 as station #9 was being used by the Litening pod.

A-10 LOADER
Correct boom175. The other thing is that when the LAU-88/A is loaded the station closest to the landing gear is left empty. They found when the Maverick was launched that the exhaust burned the landing gear as boom175 stated. Steve
bdt13
LAU-88 with Mavs was the go-to load for much of the early Hog's life. Witness these links to the 1970s: Spotted JAWS Early gray Hogs Also got used in Desert Storm, although the single LAU-117 rail was perhaps more common.
