Rocky Posted October 4, 2015 Share Posted October 4, 2015 What color would the area under the front of the windscreen on a natural metal finish P-38J be? My old Monogram instruction sheet says olive, but no other part of the plane is olive, and I suspect that olive is for an optional olive paint scheme. Black would make more sense. Steve N Posted October 9, 2015 Share Posted October 9, 2015 Here's a pic I posted on the other P-38 cockpit thread. This is the unrestored "time capsule" P-38J at the NASM Udvar-Hazy Center. You can see the canvas cover over the top of the instrument panel. This example appears to have originally been olive green, but has faded and shrunk up a bit over the years.
