john c
I am sure that it is a Chengdu F-7 (sort of MiG-21) Namibia. Ask Tom Cooper. Johnc
vince14
Yep! It is indeed a Chengdu F-7NM from the Namibian Air Force. Rarely seen in public, one was performing at the first ever Namibian Air Display alongside their K-8 Karakorums.
JB2013
One out of a total of eight F-7s in Namibian service. Edited October 24, 2015 by JB2013

apapagos
how do you guys distinguish between MiG-21 and Chengdu J-7? they look exactly the same to me.
streetstream
how do you guys distinguish between MiG-21 and Chengdu J-7? they look exactly the same to me. A mig 21 has a very different wing. Far more triangular.
Exhausted
A mig 21 has a very different wing. Far more triangular. I guess let's consider the F-7 and the J-7 to generally be the same things. IIRC, the early J-7s have MiG-21 wings, after the F-7G, or so, it seems you get the wing extensions.

I plan on getting Trumpeter's J-7G so I can do something like this. Also, look at the positioning of the aoa sensor and pitot (?) tube, it seems to change based on variant. Does anybody know the reason for moving it from bottom to top between the MiG and Chengdu models? Edited October 26, 2015 by Exhausted
