Hello

Micro update with the work on the wings.

You have to plug wing extensions. very curious that the contact do not follow a panel line.

KH offers a very interesting crenel like fit.

It will need some CA glue and putty:

Moreover, the plug is thicker than the wing.

Sanding needed...

Then, we got heat shrink on the external surfaces:

So... putty:

And sanding:

It's interesting how you can compare the level of engineering and thought put into a model and things like these.

KH just placed the reinforcement where they pleased. AMK in their MiG-31 they smartly placed all the reinforcement on the backside of each panel line, so the sink marks if there were any would be hidden or just say it's the stressed metal.

Hello

Small update

My friend raphael did an amazing job correcting the exhausts.

He shortened the outer petals and detailed the inner ones.

Inner Petals:

Cutting of the support:

You have to remove the plastic ring:

I find the parts very convincing.

Cant wait to paint them to reveal the details.

I also filled the huge trenches at the fin bases:

Cheers!

Hi !

Ā

I couldnt resist to buy the impressive barracuda's exhausts.

It is truly impressive detailled resin parts.

Ā

So, then I couldnt resit to chop of the parts from their blocks, and to do dry fit testing.

Sadly, I had to remove the Afterburner ducts because it does not fit with Barracuda exhauts.

It was tricky but I finaly managed to extract them.

After some triming, I could have pu the resin on the Foxbat:

I hope to be able to continue this build soon!

Nice work. what is the white stuff you used to apply the structure at the back of the canopy?

Ā

Hi!

It is an acrylic putty found for 2ā‚¬ in a supermarket.

It looks like Deluxe Perfect plastic putty, but not quite the same for the texture and workability.

I let it dry for a few minutes, then I can shape it with a toothpick.

Ā

That is most excellent work and your photos are nice and sharp too. Always a good thing

Ā

As for that putty at the rear of the canopy, I assume that is to represent some quilted padding on the inside of the canopy?
