A "journalist" can either

i) spend weeks researching and educating him or herself on the subject, chase down leads, confirm stories and sources, spend hours writing accurate copy and file the story that few will ever read in entirety; or

ii) just write something the target audience is known to "like"

Both pay the same.

I don't even feel like option i) is a thing anymore. Even if directed to do it, how many would actually even know where to start?
