jmel
I'm going to start a new thread since I reshuffled the jets on this sheet since the initial post. This sheet is sized for the Tamiya 1/32 Viper. All jets are Block 40, 42, 50, or 52, so the Tamiya CJ kit is going to be the basis. Obviously, some options on this sheet will require some swapping with the Thunderbirds kit to get the correct engine/intake combo or get one of the aftermarket offerings available. Options include 1) Block 52 92-3911, 169th Fighter Wing, SCANG, 50th Anniversary Wild Weasels, August 2015 2) Block 52 93-0545, 169th Fighter Wing, SCANG, 5th Gen Have Glass paint, April 2015 3) Block 50 98-0005, 85th Test & Evaluation Squadron, 53rd Wing, Eglin AFB, 5th Gen Have Glass paint, February 2012 4) Block 50 91-0382, 522nd Fighter Squadron, 27th Fighter Wing, Cannon AFB, NM, February 2007 5) Block 50 91-0336, 148th Figther Wing, MNANG, 5th Gen Have Glass paint, July 2014 6) Block 50 90-0805, 13th Fighter Squadron, 35th Ops Group flagship, Misawa AB, Japan, April 2012 7) Block 40 89-2124, 150th Fighter Wing, NMANG, Kirtland AFB, NM, January 2003 8) Block 42 89-2082, 180th Fighter Wing, OHANG, Toledo, Ohio, 5th Gen Have Glass paint, November 2015 9) Block 40 89-2105, 114th Fighter Wing, SDANG, Sioux Falls, SD, June 2015 10) Block 40 89-2003, 347th Wing flagship, Moody AFB, GA, September 1998 These should be ready by late January, I hope. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! Be sure to check out the Reid Air Publications website ( www.reidairpublishing.com ) for our Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale!! RoNaf
If i have the Tamiya Block 50 what do i need to build the block 42 bird?
jmel
If i have the Tamiya Block 50 what do i need to build the block 42 bird? A smallmouth intake and P&W engine, along with a WAR HUD, which is included in all aftermarket cockpits, I believe. I know it is in Avionix/BB and Aires.
RoNaf
Just one wish. Sometime in the future you have to make a sheet of F-16 mig killers!!!
RoNaf
In 1/32 :-)
RoNaf
I believe 6 F-16s have made 8 kills in operations since the early 1990s. 5 kills in operations over Yugoslavia and 3 over Iraq. That would be a cool sheet. :-)
RoNaf
USAF F-16C block 30 #86-0262 1x mig 23 (iraq) F-16D #90-0778 1x mig 25 (iraq) USAF F-16C block 40 #89-2137 mig kill x 3 (yug) F-16C block 40 #89-2009 mig kill x 1 (yug) USAF F-16C block 50 #91-0353 mig kill x 1 (yug) plus One drone kill over Iraq in febuary 2009??? RoNaf
I came really close to putting a few of those on this sheet but ran out of room. What about a future release?
jmel
What about a future release? More than likely. I have several of them already available in 1/48 so it won't be hard to scale them up to 1/32.
mungo1974
So do any of the paint guys do this 5 Gen paint yet or do we have to mix it? Not built a Viper for awhile so haven't really thought about this latest scheme until now.
Colin K
Considering I just bought the Academy Block 40 (yes, I know), I may have to pick up this sheet. Some nice options on it!
Bob Rock
USAF F-16C block 30 #86-0262 1x mig 23 (iraq) F-16D #90-0778 1x mig 25 (iraq) USAF F-16C block 40 #89-2137 mig kill x 3 (yug) F-16C block 40 #89-2009 mig kill x 1 (yug) USAF F-16C block 50 #91-0353 mig kill x 1 (yug) plus One drone kill over Iraq in febuary 2009??? Dont know anything about that F-16. You'll find that 89-2137 and 89-2009 are not MiG killers, but J-21 Jastreb killers, turkey shoot really. Cheers, Miro.

Not built a Viper for awhile so haven't really thought about this latest scheme until now. You can use FS36076 - the correct color is FS36170, howeever FS36076 is close.
