habu2
I guess the F-4 didn't need the ship to be moving: Two observatios: - launching clean, no stores or tanks - doubt he plans on returning to land on deck....

Finn
Interesting unusual scene. Any story behind this? The caption said it’s the Ranger moored in Yokosuka Japan 1963, that's all i know but as mentioned it's in a clean config and most likely just enough gas to get to the nearest runway. Ro-Gar Hobbies
The strange part to me being that I am in the shipping business, is that the ship seems to be tied up, the gang way attached and down, but yet there are tugs pushing on the ship? Wonder if they were there to keep the ship steady for the launch? Robert

Jari Thanks, Finn. Looks like the most noisy day ever for the harbour.
GreyGhost
Wow, that's cool! It's most likely VF-92 or -96 ... Thanks Jari for posting these great photos! -Gregg
SERNAK
but yet there are tugs pushing on the ship? Wonder if they were there to keep the ship steady for the launch? Robert I have also noticed the tug-ship, looking as it pushes the aircraft carrier. If it's not Photoshop-ed, then it's very strange. Keep the carrier steady for the launch? Hmm.... I don't think so. Any other opinions?
