Jinxter13
don't be surprised if crews dress in nondescript black or dark colored uni's, suddenly board and take off with those three jumbo's, destination unknown, mission unknown, are they secretly building large seagoing vessels deep in China, how much fuel is onboard is it usable. Who in the world walks away from 3 747's, we're not talking about a derelict 1975 Fords/Chevys?. No one has reported 3 stolen 747's ( have they?)?. Why don't they ask Boeing, surely they know who bought them. There aren't that many folks on this rock who can afford a 747, let alone owning three. Some who don't know, should realize owning an aircraft isn't like a family car, parking, maintenance, other costs come into play here....ya don't wanna pay for parking one of these....$1.00 doesn't get you much time. phantomdriver
Someone at the International Air Registry ought to know who was the last owner, then see from there, if not, just impound/ de-fuel and sell....that will do..

TaiidanTomcat
Two best times to own an airplane are the day you buy it and the day you sell it

Ryan Hothersall
I wonder if they were due for the major D check where the aircraft are basically stripped and rebuilt, to thoroughly inspect the structure and thus very expensive and time consuming. The owners deciding that due to the age of the aircraft, it wasn't worth it?.
muswp1
Someone at the International Air Registry ought to know who was the last owner, then see from there, if not, just impound/ de-fuel and sell....that will do.. I think they tried that route and lost track after Air Atlanta Icelandic sold them. I did a real quick Google search on one of the jets and found a few images from around 2010 at an airport in Amsterdam (naturally with no markings at all), but that's it for post 2008. White Wolf
Apparently, one aviation company has come forward to say that the planes are theirs and that it was the authorities that had consistently refused to approve the paperwork for them for years. The plot thickens... Still, considering the age and condition of the planes, would it be better if they were sold off for scrap instead?
