salvador001
Hi guys, this is my UH-72A Medevac build. I will make a UH-72A in Medevac configuration using the 1/32 Revell EC-145 DRF Luftrettung kit, Werner Wings Medevac conversion, Renaissance EC-145 detail set and Fireball Modelworks Lakota decals. Still thinking which i will make, i think the Flat Iron one is my favourite. Heres how its going. Hope to continue working on it as soon as i get the photoetch. Thank you all for your suppport! Rod. rotorwash
Rob, Man, you are getting this year off to a fast start! I have quite a few Flatiron Lakota pics if you want them. By the way, Flatiron is flying UH-60As now. Virtually all the 72s are moving to the trainer fleet at Rucker. Ray
salvador001
Thank you my friend. Yup, i must hurry, this builds will last all year lol. Im in between the Flat Iron one and the DC NG medevac, but as you mention that, i think i will go with the DC NG one. Yes i would like those pics, will be a great help. P.S. the hueys are in progress too, dont you think they will be forgotten. Thanks. Rod. Edited January 6, 2016 by salvador001
hawkwrench
Man, I'll be watching this build fer sure!!! I will build a Lakota sometime this year hopefully. Tim
norbert
Hi Rod Nice to see this one in the move Be aware that this kit has a fit issue with the big windshield piece. First thing you have to do is to adapt the fuselage to the windshield. Then you can progress with that behind you. Norbert
salvador001
Thank you guys. Copy that Norbert, ill be carefull. Rod.

Youngtiger1
Oh wow, this will be a cool project. It's shame that we don't see many of this helo built as it's a cool helicopter. Seeing your here, I say we're in for a treat ;)
salvador001
Hi guys. Heres an update. Im almost finishing the tail section, i scratchbuild the antennas mounts below the tailboom and the antennas itself. I Just need to add the two white antennas near the rotor 90 gearbox, nav lights, and obvious the rotor itself and finally seal it with a flat coat. Painted with MM Acryl U.S. Army Helo Drab lightened a little with light gray. And ive been working with other parts of the model as well. Feel free to ask any question. Hope u like it. Thanks. Rod. Rotorman
You painted the tail separate from the fuselage. Is the fuselage a different color than the tail? In any case nice paintjob.
salvador001
Thanks Oliver. Well, this model gives you the chance to put together the tail section to the main body without gluing it, thats why i painted it first. Rod. salvador001
Well guys, i just finished the tail boom. Some parts were scratchbuilt like the antennas and some detailing work was done on the tail rotor system. The rest was photoetch and resin from the renaissance set. Hope everyone likes it. Rod. BK-117
Great work so far ! But you have to correct the tail rotor, as you glued it in place, it turns in the wrong direction. This is an error, that Revell made with this kit ! Greetings from Austria
salvador001
Thanks BK. Well, damn, i didnt know that, and i cant correct it now, the rotor is glued and if i touch it i will mess it up. Rod.

Only thing i made scratch were the console switches, i only need to add the werner wings medevac stuff and its ready. Ive finished the main rotor too. All paints are all mix cause i dont have the precise color of all the parts. Feel free to ask any question. Thanks you all! Rod.
