longmc
I finally got around to finishing this kit. I had it mostly build about 10 years ago, but lost interest and put it back in the box. I recently decided to move from enamel to acrylic paints and purchased the Ammo by Mig Jimenez set of paints and weathering products. This is the Hasegawa F/A-18A kit with the following: black box cockpit MAW intake covers Flying Leatherneck decals Eduard Brassin Aim-9M Tamiya AGM-88s Ammo Paints, panel washes, and pigments Thanks for looking and critiques are welcome! longmc
Top Notch Hornet you have here...Nice to see an old school A-model built up. Cheers Collin thanks, Collin! It's weird how the weathering doesn't show up in the photos. I guess my lighting was off. I think it looks a bit overdone on the model, but the pics hardly show it. Postman623
This is my cousins jet... Literally. Col. Zuppan just retired recently... finished driving F5s at VMFT-401 in 2008 I think... Good looking jet! His typical loadout was a little different- but I love it.
my favs are F`s
Beaty at its finest - the early Hornet :) okey, since this is in the critic"s topic, I could add the slightly too bright and contrasting decals, and the need for at least some subtle wash to appear more panel lines, according to me. ChippyWho
Great job! Love this kind of scheme on a Navy/USMC jet; quite subtle but a step above the workaday "Now you see me..." Lo-Viz markings -I think you nailed it! Edited November 9, 2016 by ChippyWho
