Base coat for alclad

Recommended Posts

Varying the colors used in the undercoat further aids the modeler, by using blues, yellows, browns arranged by panels you can still shoot one Alclad tone on top but it will have subtle differences to avoid the monotone look. This further expands the shade range of the default Aluminum or whichever shade made possible by Alclads sheer coats. Best luck

Get the plastic as smooth as possible before painting. Get the undercoat as smooth as possible. Use sanding pads to 12000 grit for both tasks.

Apply Alclad in light coats, close in, at about 13-15 psi.
