jinmmydel
"New tool kit? Let me make sure I get all of the display graphic in the pic, no need to see the whole kit." -Photographer apparently. Though what I can see does look promising.
graves_09
It says "new tool" but the AIM9X on the wing tips look suspiciously like the ones from Trumpeter kits. Hope I'm wrong...

You're not seeing things. Those are the weirdly shaped Trumpeter AIM-9Xs. So it's quite possibly a rebox of the Trumpeter kit. Mark
ChernayaAkula
I don't think it will be a rebox. The kit shown may well be the Trumpeter kit, but it serves as a place holder for display purposes until they have an actual prototype of their own kit they can show. jinmmydel
They said it's a new tool...in what universe would they say that if they were just reboxing someone elses kit?
305swag
It's a new tool of the trumpy kit

Mark Name one time when a Trumpeter kit has appeared in someone else's box (other than the couple of joint projects by MonoChrome in Japan). Hasn't happened, and it's not happening here. I know the designer of this kit, and he is working for Revell Germany.
Darren Roberts
I thought Revell/Germany was no longer a separate entity from Revell/USA. Does this mean that Revell/USA will be releasing the kit? I know they're going to rerelease the 1/48 scale F, which is wonderful news.

Hopefully cheaper and better than the trumpy kit.Althought, it seems strange to use a competitors kit to announce your own new product. Would Ford use a Chevy as a place holder for their new car? Not completely unheard of, according to some, ICM used the Zvezda T-34 as a stand-in for their own T-34 kit after it had just been announced.
Jennings
Absolute, 100%, iron clad, all-American, cast in concrete guaranteed this is a new Revell kit. Edited January 28, 2016 by Jennings

I remember Revell releasing their Tomcat (not the Monogram kit) and they actually used the Fujimi kit as their box art! Now that's embarrasing.

Hasn't happened, and it's not happening here. I know the designer of this kit, and he is working for Revell Germany. Trumpeter 1/32 F-105's were in Hobbycraft boxes for a while and I think the 1/48 F-9F panthers were too. And regarding using another companies kit, wasn't the Contrail 1/72 XB-70 used on the box art for the Ertl/AMT kit? Ken Edited January 28, 2016 by kenlilly106
Jennings
Be that as it may, this IS a new Revell kit, not in any way, shape, form, or fashion associated, affiliated, or otherwise connected with Trumpeter.
Manuel J. Armas S.
it have the same mistake in the tails... Trumpeter is great kit, buy with a lot of soft details in many areas.

I'll take your word for it, companies don't label their kits "NEW TOOL" when it's a simple rebox, but Revell could've saved itself some trouble had it not chosen to display a place holder like the Trumpeter kit. MoFo
Trumpeter 1/32 F-105's were in Hobbycraft boxes for a while and I think the 1/48 F-9F panthers were too. Hobbycraft re-boxed a number of Trumpeter kits. I know the Tu-16 was re-boxed and the 1/32 MiG-15s or MiG-17s were, too, along with the Panthers and a heap of armour. Hope I'm wrong... it can't be trumpeter F-18E. Look at the parts number: 248 parts. Trumpeter F-18E has 738 parts.
