longmc
Has anyone used or seen a build using the KASL tail and rear fuselage conversion for Tamiya F-16? I would seem this would be the best way to get an F-16AM/MLU in 1/48 scale. With either Hasegawa, Kinetic, or Tamiya they would all require a new tail, and the kinetic the nose correction as well. delayar
Hi, I ordered a set to build the Dutch demonstrator, but it has not yet arrived. I will report on it once I have it in my hands. Markus
polar bear
Here is my sample of Kasl F-16 A conversion The conversion needs some surgery to remove C type panels. Parts after cutting. The panel lines and rivets are crisp Conversion part snugs into forward fuselage. Another angle. You can see the fit to side of plastic part. every fuselage parts together. Look fantastic to me. Now it looks like an early Viper. IMHO, this set worth my money. I used to rescribe the model and used Hasegawa tail to convert Tamiya Viper to A model twice. These were real nightmare. Kasl also tail fits to fuselage part better than Hasegawa. The level of detail is superb. Regards, Nat Edited February 8, 2016 by polar bear
Uncle Uncool
I'll go a tad off the rail, if I may, regardin' the 1/48 Kinetic F-16AM kit. Is there a way to recognise the original release (the one with the worst nose), from the latest one (which is said to have the "corrected" nose?). I've got the kit which's got the two-coloured upper 'n' lower fuselage halves. The nose on my example doesn't look THAT awful on this kit by comparison; these two pics borrowed from the web might illustrate my query: Original release Latest release  Would I still need the KASL correction for this kit, d'ya blokes think? Thanks a lot. Cheers, Unc²

Vodnik
Seems like a lot of work for a few panel lines. Not just for a few panel lines, but the base of the tail fin. In Tamiya kits there is a big flattened (or is it even slightly recessed?...) area for the larger C type tail fin base. This conversion makes it easy to attach a smaller A type fin base without filling, reshaping and rescribing of this area.
Alex Sidharta
Does the KASL's A-style tailbase conversion include the RWR sensor located on the right & left side of the parabrake housing? Can't find it in the pictures...
Niels
No. It is molded on the Taiwaneese version which doesn't have these.
