I also assembled two main parts of fuselage, fit was OK except for intakes. I had to add some stiren, putty, then sand it, again some putty, thick coat of Tamiya primer and so on... Now it looks OK, i already put some primer coat and I have to repair some smaller mistakes.

Work on CFTs...All vertical panels filled with putty, other shallow panels re-scribed with needle, intakes drilled and two intakes built from scratch. I lost "seals" in few places so I replaced them with thin stirene strips.

Hello Vedran,

Can you post some pictures of the intake, specially the piece that goes close to the fuselage?

I am having a hard time trying to make it smooth.

Cheers,

Wolney

Unfortunately, so did I...

Intakes are, by my opinion, worst part of this model, they just won't fit as they should, at least inner part, external fit is OK.

Yesterday night I closed intakes with masking tape so I can't take any more pictures from inside, but i took some photos from outside if it helps. You can find some photos from inner part of intakes in my previous posts. I used some stirene and a lot of tamiya putty to make it smooth. After one "coat" of putty I sanded it, but Tamiya "sinks" a bit so you have to repeat process, and in the end I also used tamiya primer as putty.

It is not easy to get smooth intake but it can be done with some work.

Yesterday night I also glued front fuselage to rear part, so ignore the glue.

Thank you very much!!

I agree with you. Intakes are the worst part in the building. I saw the previous pictures and you can be sure they helped me a lot!!!

Thanks again and keep the good work. I am following your job!!

Cheers,

Wolney

Some progress...

Styrene rings, rocket motor holes, seeker caps, thinner wings, some rivets, panel lines, and also AMRAAM heads sanded to get "active head" shape.

Bomb stations before:

Top Studio rivets are for separate bomb stations and they will come in place after I finish with painting, and MFH are for long ones (and in next updates also for other pylons).

Some work on "under-wings-things"...photos almost 1 month old, but better to post it now or never.

LAU-128 launchers are from Hasegawa f-16 kit, while ADU-552 adapters are built from scratch using 2x2 mm stiren piece from Plastruct as a beginning point. Piece at the top is Revell piece from box, which they supply enough for only one wing (2 pieces in total).

I'm looking at this topic from the start, I have never left comments not because your work is not good, but because I wanted to compliment you at the end of the model but I could not resist to also express my appreciation to this great job, you you are definitely an excellent reference for detailing the most of this model. I wait, for me, the best part ie painting
