f14tomcat
Ok, I am at a loss. Looking at different drawings and pubs, the length is different. What I am looking for is the lenght missus the prop/spinner. The reason is looking at photos, it looks like there are a couple of different spinners used of wartime birds. Different contractors I guess. And who has the best set of drawings. TIA Wayne Edited February 15, 2016 by f14tomcat
Jennings
It's pretty widely accepted that the best P-51 drawings (B/C and D/K) are by Charles Neely. He quotes the overall length on the B/C as 32' 2.97".
tourist
There was only one spinner used on P-51B/C's, which photos made you think there were two?
mawz
It's the D/K which had different spinners, although as far as I'm aware the spinners were the same length, they just varied in the distance from the prop to the backplate.

Indeed, the P-51K spinner for the Aeroproducts prop was slightly different than the P-51D's but they had the same shape and size.
