Parabat
This is finally done, just over 18 months later. I wanted to make an F-14A from VF-24, having seen them on the cover of Air International in about 1997. I finally found the decals from Fightertown and got all the bits together. I decided, on the strength of building the Hobby Boss F-14D, on using the Hobby Boss F-14A. This kit is great, but does need updating in the TCS nose sensor, NACA gun vents and the tail ECM to bring it in line with the VF-24 Tomcats involved in the testing of bomb carriage in 96/97. Additional pieces to the kit were as follows; - Quickboost ejection seats - Steel Beach F-14 update set for Hobby Boss (TCS, NACA vents and tail ECM) - Eduard AIM-54 - Mk 83 1,000 bombs donated by Foghorn Leghorn - Wheeliant F-14 wheels - Fightertown decals - Humbrol enamels (128 top, 127 undersides and flanks) and Alclad clear gloss and matt coats. I have rushed it a little so it's not perfect by any stretch of the imagination. I didn't get it as patchy as the real jets were and there's probably sonething I've missed completely. But here it is in all its glory. Edited February 28, 2016 by Parabat

Adam1818
Great looking tomcat. Might not be as patchy as you wanted but probably looked just like that at one point in its life. Especially nice work in the cockpit!
Parabat
Thanks for the comments guys. Tomthegrom - here's a link to the Bedevilers Tomcat , on another forum (cough cough!) http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234916404-148-hasegawa-f-14a-of-vf-74/
Andrew D. the Jolly Rogers guy
Very nice! And you can't go wrong with Fightertown Decals for anything VF-24-related. Brian P is absolutely the Renegades guru, as he spent a lot of time around the squadron back in the day. He knows of what he speaks/writes/prints.
Fighting Eighty-Four
That is one sharp, beautiful Tomcat! Love how crisp the paintwork is. I really am diggin' the pic of the trio of Tomcats, the in-flight Bedevilers cat in particular. There is just something about the look of the big cat in flight that makes me smile. Andrew Maverick Taylor
Cool build of the Renegade jet. Interesting that one of the crew names is Lt Rich Corky Erie. He went on to be the airshow director for NAS Oceana, Virginia up until 2006 and I believe he still does but in a civilian capacity. At least he did when Hart Aviation were documenting the last years of the tomcat at Oceana.

Though not the best of the three, the VF-74 in flight is my favourite. Edited March 1, 2016 by Parabat
