stenkabg
Hello. The long time promised MiG-17 PF correct nose for the Hobby Boss kit. The first shots of the master WIP. Still needs some refinement and detail. It will include the front wheel well.

mike_espo
Is the HB kit that far off?
Jennings
Is the HB kit that far off? Yes.
Laurent
Yes. Please illustrate.
stenkabg
This is how much they differ. I have personally measured one at the Bulgarian Air Force Museum in Plovdiv.
mike_espo
Don't mean to be difficult, but when attached to the fuselage, is it still bad? In your hand the HB piece is at an angle and does not include part of the fuselage.
stenkabg
The HB piece makes the whole front fuselage squashed. And it is not only that - the gun blisters on the belly of the HB MiG are very small.
Laurent
Intake discussion in the comments of http://aeroscale.kitmaker.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=Reviews&file=index&req=showcontent&id=3764 The HB one looks "rounded triangle".
Andzin
At last correct nose to MiG-17PF! Could You consider correct nose for LiM-5P - it's different, and as far as I know Bulgaria used some of them ;-) Here http://modelwork.pl/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=13244 You can find photo of both noses Edited March 5, 2016 by Andzin

mingwin
Thank you Stenislav for you dedication to "shape correction" (and sharing you scratchbuilding talent with us!) i'll for sure get at least one or two of your MiG-17 sets when they'll be ready. (as i've already have 3 of your MiG-21bis noses...and eagerly waiting for your MiG-23ML/MLD and BN front fuselage correction sets...) B.Sin
Too bad the manufacturers don't employ these guys to do their design work.
Laurent
Too bad the manufacturers don't employ these guys to do their design work. Some do. Trumpyboss doesn't.
stenkabg
I will send it for casting in the end of this week. Still need some gentle sanding here and there.

kellyF15
That is really nice. How is the fit to the kit?
skyhawk174
Wow very, very nice  I always thought the Trumpeter kit looked odd and to be honest I could not figure it out. I just thought it was the version. I will have to put this on my shopping list for sure along with the MiG 23 correction set. Now that needs it for sure.

skyhawk174
Wow your new one is so different than the original kit which is a good thing :). Yet another item on my list to get. Thanks so much for producing this set. I know I do not have the skills to do something like this and you saved me lots of misery having something so wrong in my model.
