Tomcat Tweeker
Started with the Upper Fuselage..... Requires the front cockpit/Nose section to be removed for the SU-30 specific nose.... Old bit removed...... New Piece.... Installed alignment tabs.... These will be removed once the join is dry and solid And All Glued in place..... Lookin pretty good to I might add.... And Test fit with the lower Fuselage.... No Drama there either I hope! LOL Well that's it for now..... Thanks for looking! Dave
Flankerman
Good luck with the build - it should be very impressive when done. Lots of aftermarket stuff there - but those Eduard Su-27 wheels are disappointing - the hubs are wrong!! They look like no Flanker wheels I have ever seen - here's what they should look like....... More of my wheel photos here. Plus the fact that the set is for the single-nosewheel Su-27 - the Su-30M2 has twin nosewheels. I hope I'm not coming across as too anal - just trying to help. Happy Flankering. Ken
yardbird78
That is a LOT of pieces and parts. It will be a complicated build, but should be really nice when it is done.
longmc
Sweet! I just picked that same kit and decals up the other day! I was wondering about the fwd fuselage cut, but it doesn't look that bad. I'm planning to do the Venezuelan version. I'll be following this for pointers! Mike
Tomcat Tweeker
Well Crap! LOL Thanks for pointing that out Ken! This is my 1st Modern Russian build and I just started clickin "Add to Cart"! LOL Can ya recommend another set of wheels? Thanks Dave Good luck with the build - it should be very impressive when done. Lots of aftermarket stuff there - but those Eduard Su-27 wheels are disappointing - the hubs are wrong!! Fighting Eighty-Four
Great subject David, I love those twin seat Flankers. Looks great so far, and will be quite something when done with all of those aftermarket goodies! I am eager to see your progress on this one!
Tomcat Tweeker
Thanks Michael!
Sebastijan
Lots of aftermarket stuff there - but those Eduard Su-27 wheels are disappointing - the hubs are wrong!! They look like no Flanker wheels I have ever seen - here's what they should look like....... Ken, keep in mind, that there is a photo-etched central part with holes, which will change the look of the hubs quite considerably. But it still looks like they've missed the unique looking noncircular inner disc.
vesthepes
Totally love the Indonesian Flankers. Good choice. I know this one is not an easy build, specially with all the PE and resin stuff... Thumbs up, it's a great start.
Tomcat Tweeker
Thanks All for the kind words! Been Pluggin along on this..... Sorted out the Nose graft.... Was pretty simple which totally surprised me! Resin Wheel Wells / Inner Main Wheel Well covers installed and primed... Pretty straight forward Cockpit tub sorted and ready for a wash and some weathering Built up the PE Pilot IP on the Fret... It's a total replacement for the plastic IP Back Seaters IP Lower Forward nose PE antenna base plates installed.... This is why I like to post updates.... I cant see worth a damn! Clearly I need to clean them up a bit more lol And Finally... My attempt at seamless intakes..... By no means an expert on SU's, but It would be nice to look down the intakes and see a reasonably smooth trunk. Carved out all the alignment pins and filled all the little holes and such with liquid styrene... We'll see how they turn out.... That's it for now! Thanks for looking! Grandboof
Off to a good start Good Luck
Sebastijan
Looking good, Dave! To be honest, it's really hard to see the bottom of the intake, due to the design. Well, at least in 1:72 - could be different in 1:48 though.
Tomcat Tweeker
Thanks Sebastian! Yea.... I was doing a bit of test fitting and it will be the case on the 1/48th version.... Not sure the trunk floors will be visible.... But if anything.... it's practice for other builds! LOL
Tomcat Tweeker
Short Update folks... Workin the Intakes..... Just a little touch-up and they are together.... Then will work the PE for them.... Thanks for lookin Dave

Tomcat Tweeker
Continuing on with the Intakes..... PE is applied for the FOD Screens and the Intake Louvers And finally Installing on the lower Fuselage half..... Figured installing them now would allow for adjusting any steps. So far it's looking pretty good.... But some seam work will be required... But not a ton.... Thanks for looking! Dave
