Tomcat Tweeker
Now painted the external of the Internal nozzle Vallejo Metal color Gunmetal Grey... But wasn't too keen on it... So painted the other with Alclad Gunmetal whick is more black and blue.... Here they are mounted in the outer Nozzles for comparison..... Lemme know what y'all think? W/ The Alclad W/ The Vallejo Used Tamiya Weathering Set Soot and streaked the Interior then attached the T Wheel/Flame holder... May not be accurate, But Kinda happy how it turned out in any case.... Well that's it for now. Thanks for looking! Dave

Tomcat Tweeker
Hi All! Small Update.. Sorted out the tails as best I could without trashing too much detail and Worked on Primary painting Fully primed with Stynalrez and preshaded with GIA Black surfacer..... Sorry no picks of that part..... For the primary colors, I wanted to try the Ammo Acrylics in an attempted to ween myself from the Mr Color Lacquers..... My 1st impression was pretty nice. As long as you build up the coats..... and use neat...... But when it came to thinning for a free hand camo.... They didn't work so great.... To get a thin mixture that would produce a tight line... Well it just wasn't doable for me... May need to play with them more... But Not now.... So I switched back to ol reliable Mr. Color...... And they worked just fine.... The bottom is still Ammo FS36375, But the top is Mr Color FS 36375 (C308) and Mr Color FS 36173 (C335 Medium Sea Grey) Gonna let it set over night and then mask and paint the Gunship Grey sections and the gun plate metalwork.... Thanks for looking Dave
longmc
Looks good! You're moving quickly through this! I finally gave up on Ammo paints. They are just too temperamental! I think Vallejo Air is so much better! The only real issue I've found with them being they're color matching is a bit suspect. I'm using they're new Air War series Modern USAF on a Kinetic F-16. While the Gunship gray is the perfect match for the viper, the neutral gray is way off. Akan is another great acrylic line. Although pretty pricey for the little bottles, they spray beautifully! Mike PS, I got the vallejo metal color paints and they're great so far! Haven't tried masking over them, but a mustang is coming up soon!!
