Steve jahn
Did any company do decals for VA-113? I wand to do an early A-4B in that scheme. Steve
kellyF15
http://www.amazon.com/Super-Scale-Decals-Skyhawks-VA-113/dp/B00SSZE9AG Sorry, looks like that is for an A-4C. The other scheme on there is for the B. Edited March 29, 2016 by kellyF15
Rex
deleted I gave info for an early A-4B cruise on a CVA, instead of a late A-4B cruise on a CVS. sorry Edited March 29, 2016 by Rex
Steve jahn
The one I am looking for is for USS Bennington 1965 Western Pacific cruise. The nose had a unique blue scallop design. I remember first seeing this scheme on an old Revell A4D kit # H-299 and have always wanted to model it Steve Edited March 29, 2016 by Steve jahn
chriss7606
Do you mean these markings? http://www.airliners.net/photo/USA---Navy/Douglas-A-4A-Skyhawk/2422841/&sid=98307e8ce202f809df823ffc307ff53e That was from the U.S.S. Shangri La in '56, not '65. Those were also A4D-1s (A-4As) not A-4Bs. I know this because I would love to build that jet too and no, there are no decals available. I wish... Rex
If that pic is labeled Shang in '56, that is from 1/2 year to a full year before the intro of the double letter tail code system. (that means that is an error in the labeling, the A4D-1 cruise was from March to November 1958) In 1956, CVG-11 was still wearing their "V" on the tail. I don't have the pic he has,,,,,,but, VA-113 did indeed deploy in the Bennington in 1965. Edited March 30, 2016 by Rex
