FIGHTS ON DECALS Adversary A-4 & TA-4 Skyhawks Part 1 & 2 LINKS HOT!!!

Recommended Posts

Hello everybody,

I have tried placing my order for booth sets but when I select "add to cart" a pop-up shows up saying there is an "www.vagabonddecals.com says error undefined".

I tried from the Ipad, and 2 different PC's, any clue about that issue?

Thanks.

Marco

Go in from http://store.vagabonddecals.com instead of www.vagabonddecals.com/store. There's some quirks with the recent updates to our store software that I haven't been able to squash just yet.

Are these shipping yet?

Not yet. The placement guides are taking longer than anticipated, but for a good reason: we decided to take some extra time and go back over our reference materials to make sure we're catching EVERYTHING. Mike and I agreed that we'd rather take a few extra days and make doubly sure we didn't miss anything than get into a hurry and miss something.

I've got an army of able-bodied tweens (aka my kids)'ready and sort of willing to help me bag and pack for shipping the moment the placement guides hit my doorstep. All that labor costs me is a couple of iTunes gift cards and a pizza, lol. The mailman is going to hate me, though.

I think that approach is better than rushing these out the door. I mean many of us are simply going to add these to the stash anyway, so it isn't as though most of them are going to applied to plastic right off the bat. The update is much appreciated either way.

Cheer up guys, if/when we get those 3 new Scooter models, there will be a rash of 1/72 decals for them.

After all, since Scooters are like potato chips, varied flavors will follow for them.

In the meantime, 1/48 Skyhawk decals aren't that expensive, I am going to buy the sheet and use the markings guide to scrounge up some decal bits to build a few of them. Especially that Mighty Mike.

Could be wrong but Hobbyboss announced those Skyahawks when I still was overseas so 2009/2010 so did Trumpeter for their 1/72 Intruders, and so did Academy with their Crusader 'cept that they've actually released it like 5 or so years later.

I already have resin bits and partially some PE sets for those kits,I was fine with but I've sold my decals years ago Gekko Graphics included and all I've left is a lousy Superscale set for both Scooters and Tigers,Hobbyboss must release something on par with their Jaguar,Hip and few others so probably I will get a couple of them

Yes, you're right, it has been a long time since the first announcement.

But, also as you said, the Academy Crusader was the same way.

I'll be fine if they don't ever release those Skyhawks,,,,,,all they would do to help me out would be to generate interest in some companies selling more decals in 1/72. It would be a lot like when the Airfix Skyhawk came out,,,we got a few new decal sheets.

I have markings for all 70+ unbuilt Skyhawks,,,,and I am okay with using just the markings guide for that Mighty Mike.

I was just thinking about others getting some benefit, I'm good with what I have.

Airfix sadly did only the A-4B is not that it wasn't full of colorful schemes but I think people only cared about the Argentina version, since Fujimi A-4B with those specific parts is hard to find,so is the aftermarket.

When I put my Fujimi A-4B for sale on evilbay I sold them for like twice the price of the A-4E/F,guess some people in EU was really looking for them badly, they are hard to find in Japan too cause when I was searching for a TA-4J on Yahoo Auctions Blue Angels boxes and A-4M were more common, everything else at the end sold for like 6000 to 7000 yen and I was lucky enough to find a fresh buy it now auction for only 2300 yen.

Back to Airfix I wish they did the entire Skyhawk line,I still don't get why they stopped straight after the B,same for the Harrier,ok FRS1 and FA2 were kinda meh,got my hands on their GR7/9 and is jewel, wondering if I can convert it to AV-8B and B+ using Hasegawa parts cause it's really worth the money

With the Airfix kit and some minor changes, you can build the A-4B, A-4C, A-4L, A-4A and the TA-4A and TA-4B. (covering US versions) (those two TA-4s are repainted much like the AF-9J became the TAF-9J)

Since each company that released in a "modular form" such as Fujimi, only come with the same rear fuselage half anyway,,,,so left over parts from your Esci+IPMS or Esoteric noses and intakes conversions could be used to make your own Airfix A-4E/F (and etc). You can also use Fujimi parts left over for the E/F or TA, depending on which way you built your Blue Angels boxings.

hmm, it seems strange to use conversions to make A-4B and C, and then save the parts to do A-4E/F, eh?

I am also wondering when these will ship, it's been quite a while since the last update (and yes I know the forums have been down).

I should have the placement guides in hand very soon - Mike Pister and I came across some new references for a bunch of these jets, so we went back and redrew a few of our profiles to reflect the new information we'd found. We sent the final guides to the printers just over a week ago, so they should be shipping to me very soon, and as soon as they arrive here, I'll be plugging through the order backlog as quickly as I can.
