Andre
Not military but ELO's Calling America mentions the 747... Conversely, Creedence's "Travellin' Band" features the 737.. Cheers, Andre

niart17
I gots one, Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start The Fire" mentions the U-2. Also though not a specific aircraft but Nena's "99 Red Balloons" has "high tech super jet fighters" in it. Edited April 25, 2016 by niart17
Exhausted
Brrt makes an appearance in this punk song I Was a Pre-Teen Mccarthyist by Propagandhi At Harold Edward's Elementary you pay respect to Our God, Our Flag, Our Military. In grade 3 I had a written composition about the global threat of communism. And I was the luckiest 8-year old McCarthyist of 1979: I spent spring break on the flight line of a base in the Carolinas- the U.S. version of my dad had signed us in. And 12 years later, the Gatling I'd touched that was strapped to the nose of a U.S. A-10, separated flesh from bone and honed its skills on "lesser humans".
GreyGhost
What about bands themselves? The B-52s and U2 come to mind ... -Gregg
Slartibartfast
Brrt makes an appearance in this punk song I Was a Pre-Teen Mccarthyist by Propagandhi Thanks for that. I'm going to find that song just for the song title and band name.
Camus272
What about bands themselves? The B-52s and U2 come to mind ... -Gregg U2 wasn't a reference to the plane though, more likely the Irish unemployment form. The B-52s indirectly, through the hairstyle. Not directly mentioning aircraft, but Prince's "Live 4 Love"concerns a pilot on a combat mission to drop bombs. Pink Floyd's "Gunner's Return" is about a bombing flight into Germany, " over Dresden at angels one-five".

ElectroSoldier
Chuck Berry - Jaguar and the Thunderbird. Sputnik - F1-11 Love missile Anything by the B-52s
Slartibartfast
Chuck Berry wasn't talking planes, he was singing about the cars. Jaguar the aircraft was a couple of decades in the future.
Thommo
In Oz in the 80's we had a music show called Countdown - http://www.countdownmemories.com/beginning_index.html, hosted by Molly Meldrum. Recently there was a TV show about his life and Countdown (yes, Molly is a bloke), and the release of a 3 CD set of old songs from the era. Listening to these songs while driving about, I realised one of them makes reference to a particular military a/c which I'd not realised - see if you can pick it: Cmon, no-one has named the a/c in this song yet..... ElectroSoldier
Chuck Berry wasn't talking planes, he was singing about the cars. Jaguar the aircraft was a couple of decades in the future. Have you ever actually listened to it? "Jaguar said, "You ain't won the race yet" And pulled back around the Bird like a sabre jet" Edited May 2, 2016 by ElectroSoldier
Slartibartfast
Sorry, I had not heard the song before. I assumed by the title you listed it you thought it was about the aircraft instead of automobiles. Thanks for pointing out the Sabre Jet reference.

viking73
Monster Magnet's song "Peace Dog" " B five two baby, way up in the sky, drop your love on me" Isn't that a song by The Cult from their 1987 "Electric" album? -Derek
Tracy White
Little bit of a bump here, missed this thread originally. An American folk music artist named Oscar Brand recorded a couple of albums of Army Air Corps / Air Force songs that he had collected from service members. Albums were titled The Wild Blue Yonder and Out of the Blue. A couple of examples are and . Fun modeling music in my opinion.
