my favs are F`s
For the decals - i`ll use DN Models masks, Eduard PE masks, and only a few of the oob decals: So let`s get started...
Mr Matt Foley
I want to see the eduard stencil masking in progress.
my favs are F`s
The heat shields are unmasked and there is only the hook area that needs to be painted. Meanwhile, just a little testfit with the nozzles, from front to back, at daylight:

my favs are F`s
Shine bright like a diamond... :) Decals are on the way. Check out how polished and shiny it is after an overall treatment with a polishing compound:
kike
That oil can effect looks about perfect!! not over done just enough to be able to notice it!! great paint job too!
my favs are F`s
Thx k! This is in its shiniest appearance, so it is worth the sight. I kinda doubt that the oil canning will look so prominent after the final coats and the weathering.

my favs are F`s
Some steps from the "painting" of the markings via the masking tape and the PE masks. The vinyl masks are relatively easy - just attach, detach the required pieces, and paint. One hint - remove the negative pieces of the masks very very slowly and do not let it touch the fresh paint.... cause it will pull it up. Well, the PE masks are quite a hastle.... they take quite some time. The precise adjusting is way more difficult cause these are PE plats - they are not transparent. But eventually it works just fine. And 1 ramp finished: Edited September 6, 2017 by my favs are F`s
Falconxlvi
Awesome - well worth the effort. I would look at some reference pics and consider toning down the stencils with some of the base color- they weather quickly! Steve
my favs are F`s
Yep, I`m keeping that in mind.
my favs are F`s
I edited the white numbers just next to the air refueling receptacle. Now they are 91308 - a combo of 4 decals and in a slightly soiled-whilte registry, slightly darker than the white color for the air refueling receptacle, but at least they are the right numbers. my favs are F`s
And some underfueselage glimpses with all the decals (of all kind) applied:
my favs are F`s
Guys, it`s ready. Here are few steps from the application of the numerous stencils on top. It went quite easier and faster than i first thought. The PE stencil masks are a real joy and so much better than using real decals. So, first the honey NO PUSH/NO STEPs: Then the small NO STEPs, and after equalizing their contrast: Upclose: Then - all the decals are sealed - with a combo of satin varnish and a couple of % of blue, black and magenta. So that acted as the last filter...
my favs are F`s
Enjoy only a few hints from above: and from the sides: Still quite a lot to do with the detailing of the pylons and the pods, but overall - that`s it. There will be quite some time till i weather it, cause i so much like with this "clean" appearance.
Thommo
I just watched that video at the start of this thread - your scratching detail is right up there with Wardogs effort, and all those moving parts with little magnets is incredible. I just don't have the patience or skills to go to those lengths.
my favs are F`s
LANTIRN pods are done, even perhaps completely weathered, maybe i could weathern them a little bit more with the overall weathering.
