farmerboy
Kit is Hobby Boss and will mostly hand-painted. Decals will be an odd ball assortment of Hi-Decals and Microscale Edited May 13, 2016 by farmerboy
White Wolf
Looks good! I have the same kit in the stash. How's the join between the upper and lower fuselage?
farmerboy
Most of the initial painting done I love the wraparound. After I got his far I realized the Windscreen is too short so I'll Have to scrounge up another one
farmerboy
Looks good! I have the same kit in the stash. How's the join between the upper and lower fuselage? It's not bad but beware, the windscreen is too short!! I have to find a more suitable one.
farmerboy
Decals and new windshield added, just have to decide on flat or semi-gloss
yardbird78
Nice work on the F-5. Definitely different.
Jay Chladek
Looks good! I have the same kit in the stash. How's the join between the upper and lower fuselage? The join is not bad at all. The kit fits together rather well. But the biggest issue (aside from the windscreen which is indeed too short) is the wings on the upper fuselage are a little too far forward by about 1/16 of an inch and you really notice it in the gear bays. The fix for that is to carefully cut them off and shift them back, but it is not a hard fix to do at all and I didn't even need to use any filler when I was done. Plus the aileron and flap splits toe in towards the front when they should be parallel with the center line of the aircraft (fill original recesses and scribe in the proper ones). As for a replacement windscreen, the Italeri one will fit fine, but finding a suitable donor kit is naturally the issue. In my case I was able to carefully salvage one from a kit I built back in high school. A cheap F-5A could probably also work in a pinch since the canopies are about the same. Nice job on yours so far Farmerboy. I see you found a proper canopy to use and also nice work adding the antenna fairing into the front of the tail. I love that option on the F-5Es. I also love the Indonesia markings. Edited May 15, 2016 by Jay Chladek
