Silenoz
An ongoing build, nearly finished. object of choise is the Fouga Magister from Kinetic in 1/48. It was used in the Belgian airforce as a trainer and had the opportunity to see them fly at the end of their life. In short, the box and parts looks nice, but a lot of sanding and dryfitting is needed, especially for a natural metal finish the parts Decals have been replaced with decals I received from the AMK version. I swapped them for the decals of the Red Devil acro team. At first I started with the front landing gear, fiddly, because you need to place all at once. Next it would be better to attach the lower part too with the aid of a metal rod... a lot of weight is necessary to avoid tailsitting, and the construction of the nosewheel is ... euuh... flimsy No decals for the dials are provided, so I used a scalpel to cavre them:
Silenoz
Hull halves joined, a lot of sanding was necessary to remove the seemlines on the panels. also some parts are too wide for a flush fit... both offices, crappy pictures, but was toying with a new cellphone wings attached without much problems: but the rear canopycover is to small for the fuselage: also the part that fits the square opening isn't high enough: when mounted there's more sanding because of the curves don't match:
Silenoz
when attaching the PE at the rear wings, it's better to check if they can be mounted and leave them off till after decalling Also the fit of the canopy needs some TLC: It hasn't been sanded really good, but it was good enough at the moment and first coat:
Silenoz
then sprayed some white and dayglow orange (MP4 orange from zero paints) and some more white: and some aluminium: I've protected this then with tamiya clear.
Silenoz
now I'm finished decalling:
K5054NZ
Thanks for sharing your progress. It's disappointing to see the fit issues with such a modern kit. However the detail is very nice. I look forward to seeing the finished model!
