Flight without a fin (tailess B-52)

Recommended Posts

I talked to someone once who was in one of the camera ships, he had a number of photos that he had taken in a photo album that he showed me. He said one of the biggest reasons the crew decided to stay with the aircraft was that they were over the Rocky Mountains at the time, it was very cold and no one had bothered to bring their cold weather survival gear. Once they found that the B-52 was controllable that also let them decide, the aircraft was essentially pointing towards Little Rock AFB, so that was the destination they chose, very little course correction was needed.
