murad
Another different build Cool Martin H Thanks Martin. Initially i was going to paint it with the plane grey color but while looking for references on airliner.net i came across this fella so i decided to go red and white instead: Build is coming along fine, fuselage is closed and all seams are accounted for, minimal filler required so far! Wings are dryfit, i'll take care of the cockpit section then move onto the air intakes - fingers xed. The ruler is in cm btw
yardbird78
Interesting subject that should make for a very colorful build. Darwin
murad
not much to show so far due to the air intakes, fit was terrible as expected with such a design, intake ramps 2 halves per side, which has to match the fuselage while the blending into the wing lerx. why wouldn't hasegawa design it in male female fashion rather than this 2 equal halves is beyond me - i'm sure there is a valid engineering explanation... murad
Looking forward to the red and white Great progress so far Martin H Martin shouldnt take too long for the red and white because i just want to get this over with, the mojo is totally gone after all the filing and sanding, whilst i was replacing the worn out canopy masking i discovered the inside has filled with a lot of dust which i have no idea how those could have entered a sealed cockpit. unfortunate but it is what it is. Current situation is it's ready for primer:
murad
primer: tamiya gloss black white: tamiya flat white red: tamiya gloss red + touch of flat base. paintjob complete, needing touchups but no nightmares. i feared there might be paint lifting, overspray and paint leaking underneath the masks via panel lines but turned out to be way better than expected. probably burnishing tamiya masking tape helped alot despite using a flat white - no i didn't polish the white prior to masking in order not to weaken the paint. i am awaiting red to settle down, used a bit of acrylic retarder with the last pass then i'll go about fixing the demarcations onto gloss coat for decals.
