Trojan Thunder
There have been a few resin kits released from 12" to 32" in length. Prices range form $35 to $150. Not sure if any in production at the moment. There are some links to kit reviews and builds about half way down this page There are also paper models around. Have you tried Googling '2001 Discovery paper models'? Edited July 19, 2016 by Trojan Thunder
Greenghost
Hi, Thank you for the hints...I already pin down some on eBay. Scifi is not my thing but watching this movie...it is awesome... Regards Edited July 19, 2016 by Greenghost
Slartibartfast
Poke around on the SSM forums. I want to say someone has created drawings for 3D printed parts at Shapeways. Also, Round 2 just acquired 2001 licensing and will shortly start repopping existing molds...and maybe new stuff. Edited July 20, 2016 by Slartibartfast
Jay Chladek
I don't know if I would hold out much hope for a styrene Discovery as that ship was LONG. But at least we are likely to see the Orion Shuttle and the Moonbus come out once again. There are some nice paper models of the Discovery out there and they can easily be scaled up or down depending on how complex you want to get.
Charlie D.
Lots of Different resin models out there. Planet x, lunar, stargazer, and federation models to name a few. Stargazer one is very nice, about 30 inches long in the $200 range I believe.
