Sausage
I was wondering how accurate it is out of the box. Is it deep enough? I don't have any photo references of the actual thing, but I think most of the plumbing in the kit is too straight (90 degree bends).
sharkmouth
Last night I had a look at my three remaining brands of 72nd scale Fulcrums. Surprisingly, the Italeri landing gear bay is nice but simplified since the plumbing is large and, as you noted, unrealistic. It also misses bulkheads and details. Trumpeter's is second best with nicer details and no plumbing at all. Zvezda's kit, while not as detailed on the surfaces (and a really simplified cockpit) has the best main landing gear bay of the three with correct depth and surface details except after the rear support strut where is was plain other than a huge knockout pin. Strange as the opposite side, which will never be seen, is free of blemishes like knockout pins! No plumbing here either. Are you using any detail sets on your Fulcrum?
