EA-6B Prowler reference pics needed

Recommended Posts

Could anyone help me with EA-6B Prowler VAQ-1 Rooks BuNo161115 reference pics? Starting the Kinetic kit and I got the Aeromaster decals 48-536 with this bird but can't find pics of the real jet. Here is the decal scan:

Yep she looks like a very rare bird to find actual pictures of. The only picture...as in one picture...that I saw of #161115 was in overall grey, which is useless to you so I didn't bother linking it. Lots of Rooks with black rudders or grey rudders but none that I saw with white ones. Aeromaster must have gotten their info from somewhere but it sure seems like an obscure Prowler.

Sorry, I was absolutely no help to you whatsoever but I tried.

Good luck.

Aeromaster misprinted the description, it isn't VAQ-1. The squadron is VAQ-137 which shows on the decal placement.

Here is a link to a photo for sale on ebay showing that same aircraft in the background.

Looks like I should email Aeromaster directly for links if they have any. Anybody knows their e-mail?

Aeromaster is no longer in operation. The line was bought by Squadron a few years ago and I doubt they got the reference photo library from the original group of guys that owned them.

If you scroll through the photos, you will see a close-up shot of the left front of the a/c, caption under the photo says February 1998. Your decal instruction is incorrect on the year of deployment, GW was commissioned in 1992, so there could not have been a WESTPAC cruise aboard her in 1988.
