phantom
Had wanted to do this one in the test build GB but you can only build So many models in 6 months. Hope to start this weekend. Edited August 1, 2016 by phantom
Grandboof
Nice one looking forward to seeing this one done Martin H
phantom
At last a day off. Most of this build looks exactly the same as my past 180 some Phantoms. Different here is the removal of the bump under the J radome and addition of a metal nose donkey "part:.
Kurt H.
Nice start. I am looking forward to this one
phantom
Going to use the decals , but still have lots to mask.
phantom
Those BIG decals are next.
Kurt H.
Looking good, that was a lot of masking.
phantom
Yep, lot more added for the red and burnt metal.
Kurt H.
Do you need to touch up the white on the wings near the blue leading edge? Masking phantoms is hard enough as it is, with that natural metal area.
phantom
Not really, the decals seem rather thick and provide good coverage. I will however have to adjust the red a bit. The big ones are on and drying.
Els
The kit is looking good. I had thought about building that kit in the past but did not want to attempt the paint/masking job. Now that I have seen the way you broke it down I may give it a try. Now I need to go and buy me a wire coat hanger because that is an excellent idea for a stand to hold aircraft while they are drying. Els

phantom
Pretty much done now. Just deciding if I should give it a third gloss coat or to tone it down a tad.
