1/32 A6M Zero, P51D, Bf109G, Shinden from imcth

Recommended Posts

imcth is a Japanese company that markets the most extraordinary kits. Strangely, they are nowhere near as well-known as companies like Tamiya.

The kits are structural models, i.e. there is no "skin" on the aircraft. That is unusual in itself, but, perhaps even more unusually, the airframe is made of photo-etched stainless steel, while the engine, undercarriage, weapons, cockpit interior, fuel tanks, etc are in cast "white metal". The only plastic in the kits is in the cockpit canopy and tyres. Assembly is by cyanoacrylate adhesives (super glue).

There are 4 models in the series.

I started with their first kit, the A6M Zero.

Fantastic models.

Very expensive I think.

Scale?

It's all relative.

They are truly exquisite and they don't need painting and all that entails.

The end result is a work of art that even those who have no interest on models or aircraft can't take their eyes off.

Prices are around JPY30,000 - 35,000 from Imcth and Hobbylink Japan. Try one. You won't be disappointed.

Scale is 1/32

Ichiban, what is your relationship / association with the manufacturer ?

Simply a very happy customer.

It is a very responsive company and the staff have been happy to answer my questions on a number of occasions. In return I have sent them pics of my work and links to my blogs, which they have asked my permission to reference on the Internet. There is no commercial relationship. I bought all 4 kits.
