IIAF F-86F-40 Sabre

Recommended Posts

And so was the Persian Sabre done :D/>/>

As usual I got bit bogged down in aftermarket...got to deal with this AMS somehow :P/> It's a Hasegawa 1/48th scale kit.

Other than all the aftermarket I put in into it I used Hi-decals IIAF decals and it´s painted in Lifecolor acrylic.

I´m considering using FOD-covers for the inlet and outlet...we shall see.

All in all a pleasent build and I´m happy with it even if there still is some beuty spots left...the biggest being

that I seem to have gotten the meassurements wrong for the placing of the extra tanks :/ A bitt annoying and it´ll

cost me when I put it into competition later this autumn.

Time for some pics! :D/>/>

Beau-ti-ful, a-ma-zing! I like the distant photos just a hint more than the closeups. Awesome Sabre, the best one i`ve ever seen!

Thanx :D

Yeah, the detail pics are so so... the kit isn't made to be looked at that close but I wanted to show tbe details pop in the closeups. The distance pics shows the model the best, I've learnt a few new tricks in editing the pics that really makes a difference.

Nice "Scorpion," Janne! :P/>/> Were holidays too stressful, like, my mate? :lol:/>/>

Thanx The Scaremonger :D/>

Holidays are unpaid forced labordays....

Now I see what you meant....I didn't get that "Scorpion" remark at first but no I made a mistake, in my mind I wrote F-86 but it came out differently. I'm dyslexic and what I think I read or write isn't necessarily corresponding to reality from time to time.

Yes as the Scaremonger says : nice Scorpion !!!

By the way the Sabre is the F-86 and the F-89 is indeed the Northrop Scorpion!

Indeed I wrote F-89 by mistake, I know it is the F-86 and in my mind I wrote that...I'm dyslexic , that means I sometimes don't read or write what I think I do, so if ppl just point out my errors instead of trying to be smart about it would make things easier for me because I didn't follow that Scorpion hint at all.

Stunning! Finish came out really well, no one other than the judges would notice the tanks, you can always reposition them but that entails a fair amount of filling and cleanup work afterwards.

Thanx dsahling :D

Nah, tbe model is finished...I don't compete to win just to participate and bring lots of models to the tables for ppl to look at :D

Ok it is not really a problem if you think F-86 and write F-89.

I think many dyslexic people can made a mistake between 6 an 9 for instance;

or between b and d and so on.

But I have to say that your model is really gorgeous; I like it very much

and you did a great job with it.Congratulations. Polo.
