ARC - browser warning of suspected Phishing

Recommended Posts

What on earth is going on with ARC forums for Safari to throw up a giant "suspected phishing" warning before opening every page I try to load?

I kind of enjoy the date a hot young Ukrainian chick pop ups.

That's from cookies reporting on the keyword "models"...

If you're getting p*rn popup ads, well, it's because you've been "surfing with one hand on the keyboard"....

Why not? The pop-up I have seen has a "Details" link, click on that and there is an option to "visit this unsafe site anyway" or wording to that effect.

As stated in the other thread I uninstalled AVAST and installed McAfee.

I had been unable to get on ARC for several days. After I dumped that

garbage antivirus AVAST all is well in Paradise. No problems, no warnings

no foolish click here to avoid then everything is reset and you have to start over.

It still doesn't seem to me that it was solely that loser antivirus AVAST, not

everyone has it! That's my story and I am sticking to it.---John

Well you dumped that pesky Avast that is doing its job and bought McAfee, which is not showing you the warnings that it should? Great buy! :monkeydance:/>

My feeling EXACTLY!! It's easy enough to disable AVAST for the duration of a visit to ARC ... but of course this workaround shouldn't be required. Hopefully Steve will find time to fix my favorite site, but he seems pretty busy.

Sorry but I don't trust any site to the point that I'd disable my anti-virus protection. Just crazy that a site would require you to do this.

Agree, but I also run my browser Sandboxed using Sandboxie.

Working on a Mac using obviously Safari this site has become impossible to visit.

Every single click results in a phishing warning page, even using the back button.

Too, it is impossible to post anything(no for this message I logged in using a shitty windows pc)!!!

So, leaves not more to do than say goodbye to this site till it has been fixed...

Cheers,

Daniel

Dump your Mac and get a Linux (or Windows) PC!

(I have always wanted to say that to a Mac user, nothing personal.)

...or if you want to be a bit less dramatic, simply go to the security tab in Safari preferences and turn off the Phishing warning!

Its a diversive way to connect with links (stored data).

60 % of the human population likes it.

The other 40% doesn't have a decent internet connection.
