john53
A slow start. I have the cockpit tub, rear deck, instrument panel and stick painted gray. I also have the seat frames painted black. I am going to paint the raised details on the instrument panel and consoles rather than use decals.---John OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA by jvandeu53, on Flickr

john53
I have the detail painting on the instrument panel done. I think they made an E model panel, doesn't look right for an A-6A.---John OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA by jvandeu53, on Flickr
john53
The cockpit is almost done.---John Intruder 5 by jvandeu53, on Flickr

john53
Thanks, cockpit and IP installed. Now to do the intake and turbine blades. Then add nose well and close up fuselage halves! All the console detail along with the IP detail are painted, I don't have much use for decals, they look fake to me.---John Intruder 8 by jvandeu53, on Flickr Edited September 5, 2016 by john53
RKic
John, if you have not done so already. You may consider attaching the exhaust ends prior to closing the fuselage. They need a bit of adjusting (I had to push out the bit that is part of the fuselage piece to match the curvature of parts B30 and B31), and its easier to do access from the inside of the fuselage. Keep up the good work.
john53
Ralph thanks, lotsa fiddley fits on this. I pulled on fuselage to get 30 and 31 out a bit to fit contour. Also watch out for the nose well, mine had no hole for the landing gear, had to open it with X Acto knife. It's all buttoned up now and setting up.---John OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA by jvandeu53, on Flickr Edited September 6, 2016 by john53

RKic
Did the bottom panels fit alright?
john53
About time this forum is back on line! I have some more work on the Intruder. The wings and stabs are on. The bottom panel fit like crap, had to push and pull on the fuselage and panel to get it to fit. I also cut the tabs off the slats and positioned them up, like most Grumman planes if one is down, four are down. Here it is so far. Have MUCH more done on the Canadian CF-18A.---John OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA by jvandeu53, on Flickr OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA by jvandeu53, on Flickr
