KASL Hobby: F-16A/B MLU Tamiya and Trumpeter tail sets

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Just received my order from KASL Hobby from Taiwan. Already had the 1/48 tail sets for my Tamiya kits, but now the 32 scale is available. It is truly remarkably detailed and gives you an opportunity to model a Tamiya or Trumpeter Viper into an accurate A/B (MLU) model.

Hopefully they issue the early tails as well. Cockpit work you still need to do yourself of course as well as some panelling, although the 48-sets have a part to take care of that.

I ordered via messenger on the FB app, so easy to do. The website was a bit more difficult, so I reverted to the messenger.

The tails are a vast improvement over de earlier offerings on the market of CE and PWMP.

It shall make finishing my Viper build easier for sure. Highly recommended.

yup, no extra cutting and additional trimming!!!!

See the list of details you need to consider when using the tail on LSP:

The tail is block 20 but by far superior to the PWMP set (although they have the RWR etc).

See my 'war' with the PWMP tail:

That looks neat. I checked their Web site, it seems there's no Euro block 30 or higher option to do a Hellenic Air Force version? Is there a major difference in the overall shape of the tail between an MLU and say a Greek Block 50? I know there's some differences in the lumps and bumps, but what about the overall shape and panel lines?

The Block 20 is has an A/B version tail base which is smaller and of a completely different shape than the C/D one used in Block 25 and above jets.
