phantom
Started my Trumpeter A-3B last week. Hoping it would be acceptable for this GB. Photos once I figure out how to get my computer to realize ARC is safe.
phantom
Boy I must need a new computer. Takes photo bucket around 10 minutes to load a photo. Model getting started.
phantom
Some sub-assemblies, getting done. (This was last week as I figured I better get going while ARC was still down.)
phantom
Getting ready to close it up. Lots of internal detail. Have to think most will not be visible much longer.
phantom
Coming along. Lots of white paint. Not too much putty.
falcon20driver
Looking great Phantom.
Rich in name only
Looks good! Not technically a heavy but bigger or close to size of the WWII heavies. Then again, in the Navy the bombers were "Heavy Attack".
Grandboof
Nice choice Looking good so far. Martin H
phantom
Thanks guys! Surprised how big the bomb bay was.
phantom
Seems I can only load one photo at a time. Hmmm... Now it won't let me load at all. Try again tomorow.
phantom
More sub assemblies.
Rich in name only
Bomb bay was sized to hold one standard A-bomb of the time, a bit larger than Fat Man of Hiroshima. As a kid (5' tall at the time) I walked by "shapes" standing on tails (sims for practice) at BOQ at NAS Sanford and looking up toward nose. Big bomb. Predecessor NAA AJ also designed around the bomb---compare with B-25.
phantom
Really afraid of the wing joins. They seem very fragile. Should I ever move they are a promise to break. Might make a "artistic" modification for transport reasons. Photo bucket is screwing around again. Edited October 13, 2016 by phantom
phantom
Took 30 minutes but I got the photo to load. Clearly I need a more modern computer.
RKic
Whoa! That is a big bird! Must be a real feat to land it on something the size of a postage stamp.
Grandboof
Looking great Any chance of a comparison shot with a Phantom when finished? Martin H

phantom
Might have one or two about, but time frame photo wise I feel a AJ coded Crusader might work better.
phantom
All done. I did not glue the folded wings on. Just inserted a thick wire to hold it in place if I ever need to move the plane in the future. Now the wings just slide off.
Grandboof
Stunning as always Martin H

phantom
Thanks, it sure takes up a LOT of space!! Even with the wings folded.
Bigasshammm
That is a huge carrier borne aircraft. Nicely done.
