Is this a new kit or a repop of the AMT kit?

would be this one i think, but the price is a bit on the steep side.

Not horribly bad, depending on how well designed and accurate the kit is.  The AMT kit has bad wing angles, soft details and the plastic is really soft.  Engines are noticeably undersized, and fuel tanks are off as well.  Usually around $79 so $20 bucks more for a good kit is not too far out of line.

It's not steep when you consider the fact that Italeri's reissue of the inaccurate AMT/ERTL B-52G will list for $72.99.

Especially if they do a good job on it.

Of course, I still won't be able to afford either one.

I have this kit in the stash and now I'm concerned about the engine size when I start building it. When you say noticeably undersized could you please expand on this a bit please. Are you talking a millimeter or something significantly higher. I just want to know if I should be looking for something on the aftermarket.

I'd say just build it as is and wait to see what the new Buff kit will feature. With the corrections to the AMT kit you can get pricey quick.

The undersized engines are more of a problem with the H kit; I don't recall there being an issue with the size of the engines in the G.

Lone Star Models did a GREAT looking set of B-52H engines, with pylons.

They are $45.00 a set.

The AMT B-52G engines are very close.  The AMT B-52H engines are VERY much undersize and poorly done.  They barely resemble the real thing.

When you put them on the model, they look fine, but when you put the correct sized engines next to it you really notice the difference.  Rough ballpark kit engines look to be 1/90 scale or so.
