Stratospheremodels
I have just UPLOADED 2 NEW MODELS at SHAPEWAYS, directly available for 3D printing. LINKS: https://www.shapeways.com/product/XP5CBAZSX/rocket-booster-for-d-21-drone-spyplane-1-48th http://www.shapeways.com/product/W5CSJFAS3/dolly-for-d-21-rocket-booster-1-48th-scale The FIRST KIT is the 1-48th Scale GTD-21 BOOSTER ROCKET. The model is hollow with thin skin to keep price low, and to keep the price competitive with RESIN KITS, the PRICE is around the SAME as my D-21 resin kit ! Because this one have a smooth skin surface, to keep things competitive i am making it available in Frosted Ultra Detail (which is much cheaper than the Extreme Detail resin and which was unnecessary in this case as the model have a smooth surface). The 2ND KIT is the 1-48th DOLLY for the GTD-21 BOOSTER, so YOU CAN DISPLAY THE COMPLETE STACK: of GTD-21 on top of Booster on top of Dolly ! :) (No need to scratch-build a 1-48th scale B-52 !) The 2nd kit is available in Frosted Extreme Detail which gives the finest small details at Shapeways best resolution of 16 microns. So now you can build 2 different types of D-21 drone displays ! With the M-12 motherplane (using the Testors-Italeri SR-71/YF-12 kits) Or with the the Stratosphere Models GTD-21 BOOSTER ! And you can build many variants thanks to the different extra resin parts i supply with the D-21: GTD-21 with rocket booster mounted on the NEW DOLLY KIT dedicated to the booster. GTD-21 with rocket booster alone (mount it on a sting on a base), BOOSTER + DOLLY displayed alone (as seen in several factory photos). D-21 A on the back of the M-12 (A-12 motherplane) with ceramic frangible nose and tail cones (several color variants exist, red, black, or white cones, as well as variants of D-21 color schemes: titanium and black color or all black D-21). Or D-21 on the back of the M-12 without jettisonable nose and tail cones. And i've ALSO got a D-21 KIT as well, available as a standard pressure cast polyurethane resin kit on my own website, with very thin wings and small surface details never offered before on previously made kits, as well as accurate top view wings shape. Pictures coming in a moment. Enjoy ! Stephane. Stratosphere Models Email: stratospheremodels at yahoo. Stratospheremodels
Some renderings of the D-21 Booster and D-21 Rocket Booster Dolly (take note that both kits are sold separately). Plus i've got 6 or 7 other new 3D models ready to upload to Shapeways very soon, they will not necessarily all be aircraft models but they will be interesting. Also got 3 more i am working at "closing" so i can upload them too, then i will go back to my main 3D model project which i will announce later on. And now back to casting too, as i've got a series of new molds for hand made models as well to complete and which i will start to use very soon. So, more news are coming. pookie
Cool. So you already ordered a sample, assembled it and have pictures to show what the customer will get... no? Not too bad for around $160 USD...

I know this again will immediately led to another shoot-storm since we had this discussion already before, but so far Stratospheremodels never provided any image of any of his build and painted models. Only CG's and the images of unassembled parts/kits ...
Stratospheremodels
Update: If you went to my boutique some time ago and saw my Dolly for D-21 Rocket Booster with the mention: "Model not for sale to the public", you did not dream. Shapeways had locked the file during a while, but everything is back to normal now and the models are both already in production and available for purchase. When i found about this, i had to go back and negotiate with them and explain they had made a mistake (actually 2 mistakes). They first said the model had "text that is too small". There is no text on that model. I went back and checked, there's some text on my 2nd model (which wasn't blocked), but it is just a copyright notice which will be invisible once the model is assembled, so i said just ignore and print. Then they said the sprues were too thin. But last year for my wheel parts, not only the sprues were smaller than those; but they also printed perfectly well. So, long story short, i had to explain a lot of things about airplane scale model parts and scale models in general (i had to remind myself people working for them are most likely not scale modelers, they use automated softwares that may block files without realizing that even if a text is too small, it doesn't matter in cases like this, as the smallest text that will be on my tires can only be read with a microscope, it's a given that it will be too small at that scale, but modelers want "something" to be there and you cannot just put nothing there. So anyway, i have been talking with them to avoid future glitches like this. So, problem fixed for the Dolly for D-21 Rocket Booster, it's unlocked since last month. Stephane Stratosphere Models. dehowie
I ordere the D-21 and am very impressed with it for a resin kit. the other D-21 available is must-shaped has wings that are different leading edge profiles and probably a candidate for the circular file. This one is very nice and well worth the price and very much looks the part. Bit of a wait but worth it.
