falcon91352
Tomorrow, I will post an update after I did may be the most tedious work of the whole built during the last days. In the meantime, you may find this quite interesting
falcon91352
Today I finished the perforated rails for my open panels project. It was a very tiresome issue with over 550 holes had to be drilled. I am glad to have it almost finished. Some small details and a bit putty and sanding still is necessary to come as close to the reality as possible.
falcon91352
Shown here is the panel of the aileron and flap activator by the left and right side. All the interiors have to be constructed during the next couple of weeks.
falcon91352
In these access panels, the plumbing of the heat exchanger will be shown. At least, the perforated rails are done.
falcon91352
As shown on the pictures in Jeke Melampy´s excellent reference book, in some cases the corners of the rails are a bit rounded. I simulated this with the new AK Interactive AK104 putty, which was put with a toothpick into the corners. This stuff works perfectly for this matter. It is a rather slow drying stuff and will be sanded later.
falcon91352
The inner sides of the avionic bay doors got some colour treatment during the christmas days to provide some relief to the builder during the drilling madness.
falcon91352
Stay tuned for the small details, like actuators, pipework, etc. for the panels. I calculate with 4-5 weeks for this. Sometimes, I tend to underestimate the amount of research and work of these subjects, so it can take longer. However, it will be a very interesting and diversified job. falcon91352
Those small details are a lot of work. They deserve a lot of time, accordingly progress will be rather slow during the next weeks. Here a pair of photographs of the small detail construction.
falcon91352
Most of the pipework is done with soldering iron of vaious diameters 0,2mm, 0,3mm and 0,5mm.
