Kursad,

Is the VMO-6 option on your OV-10A sheet  a DaNang based aircraft?

I like the the markings but I want to do a Vietnam aircraft. I have the AOA sheet for VAL-4 but if the VMO-6 option is a Vietnam that would be great.

Thanks

Zach

VMO-6 left Vietnam in late 1969 and were then stationed at MCAS Futenma Japan. While they were in SEA, VMO-6 Broncos were pretty generic standard USMC Bronco markings of the time (some had the red cherry nose, "cherry six"). While they were in Japan their markings become the more colorful livelier white markings with the yellow cat on the nose.

VMO-6's 155405 from Japan was transferred to VAL-4 (Black Ponies) in Binh Thuy, Vietnam in 1971. There are photos/videos taken of 155405 by a Black Pony of its arrival there in the VMO-6 markings. At that time its transfer to VAL-4 in Vietnam, it had those colorful VMO-6 markings. VAL-4 re-painted it in their markings, it would become modex 111/"White Lightning" with the Black Ponies.
