I don't thin it at all, at least not new bottles. If it starts to thicken, I use the MM Acryl Thinner. I don't gloss coat, either. I smooth the paint with sanding clothes, then brush a little bit of Future where the decal will go. It saves the gloss step. I've rarely had a decal silver using this method.

I use a Iwata HP-CH+ with a 0.3m needle as my general purpose airbrush and an Iwata CM-B with an 0.18mm needle for really fine work.
